Obituary for William Olin "Bill" Bohannon

William Olin Bohannon, “Bill”, 78, a resident of Jackson, LA, died on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home. He was retired, after working for 38 years for James River. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 8am until 9am. There will be a graveside funeral service at Melton Family Cemetery in Winnfield, LA at 2pm. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pauline Bohannon; one daughter, Susanne Rena Coppola and her husband Trey Coppola of Jackson, LA; two sons: Wade Kelly Bohannon of Clinton, LA; Olin Keith Bohannon of Covington, LA; two step-sons: Curtis Ervin Lea of Austin, TX; William Phillip Lea “Bill” of Asheville, NC; four sisters: Mary Anna Darbonne of Moss Bluff, LA; Linda Kaye Kline of Lake Charles, LA; Bonnie McDonald and husband Jim McDonald of Sulphur, LA; Sandy Marshall and husband James Marshall of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren: Jonathon McGraw, Courtney Rena McGraw, Richard Brown, Wyatt Coppola, Alicia Bohannon, and Brice Wade Bohannon. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leroy "Pete" Bohannon and Ethel Douglas Bohannon; his first wife Pat Bohannon; grandson Jeremy McGraw, brother Edward Lennon “Puggy” Bohannon; mother-in-law Jewel Keith Sheppard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, building many projects for family and friends, camping, and enjoying life to the fullest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Melton Family Cemetery, In Care of Michael May, 233 WW Melton Road, Georgetown, LA 71432 or the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
