Obituary for Marsha Carol Palmer Trahan

On May 23, 2018, the light was blown from our lamp. Marsha Carol Trahan, age 70, passed away with her family at her bedside. A proud graduate of McKowen High School in Jackson, LA, she was a mother, grandmother, and the center of everything good in her family. Among her favorite pastimes were spending time with and cooking for her grandsons. She was an avid bird- watcher and loved traveling the country with her husband in search of a new bird to add to her life list. She was a meticulous housekeeper and took great pride in her garden, house plants, and her cat, BullsEye. Marsha is survived by her husband of 54 years, Huey P. “Butch” Trahan, Jr.; grandsons, Warren “Tray” Torrance (Mandy), Logan P. Torrance (Shelby), and Sage Yetta; niece, Shelley Thompson Milliken; sister, Sharon Palmer Thompson (Keith); and brother, Riley Palmer (Kathie); sister-in-law Linda Young (Bobby); brothers-in-law Rocky and Dewayne Trahan (Florene); stepmother-in-law, Margie Trahan; and numerous great-nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Daria Trahan Gregg; son, Warren L. Trahan; nephew, Ret Michael Thompson; mother, Gladys Mitchell Palmer; father, Clarence E. “Sonny” Palmer; mother-in-law, Naomi Higgins; and father-in-law, Huey P. Trahan, Sr. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, from 5-9pm at Charlet Funeral Home, 4230 High St, Zachary. Visitation will continue Saturday, May 26, at the Jackson United Methodist Church, 1727 Sycamore St, from 9am until service time. A celebration of Marsha’s life will be held at 11am at the church.
