Obituary for Rolland Henry Degler

Rolland Henry Degler, 99, went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 13, 2018. He worked at Crown Zellerbach, and was a store owner and carpenter.
He was born in Davis, WV. Visitation will be on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, from 4:00 pm until memorial service at 6:00 pm.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Wilcox and husband Clifford Jr of St. Francisville, Charlotte Maxwell and husband Dale of St. Francisville, Caroline Travis and husband Jerry of Ethel, LA and Connie Dolan and husband John of Vicksburg, MS, sisters, Midge Ashbrook of Newark, OH and Betty Mortimer of Philadelphia, PA and brother, Joe Degler of Gladstone, OR and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth O. Jones Degler, parents, Dorothy and Albert Degler, son, Albert Degler, a brother, Jack Degler, sisters, Kathryn, Marie, Evelyn, Sue, Lois, Nellie and Joan.
He served in the US Navy prior to serving in WWII in the 274th Armored Artillery Batallion as a staff sergeant under General Patton's Army.
He was an Avid Fisherman and loved fishing in Alaska 4 different years. He loved catching Salmon and Halibut.
