Louis A. Sparkman, 86, died on Friday, March 9, 2018. He was 86 years old, a resident of Zachary and was retired from Dow Chemical with 28 years of service. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 5pm unitl 8pm and on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at First Baptist Church Zachary from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. Louis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce G. Sparkman, 3 children, Jeffrey Sparkman and wife, Cherie; Larry Sparkman and wife, Colbey and Jennifer Ballard and husband, Charles. A brother, Willie Sparkman and wife, Sue. 7 grandchildren, Emori, Aubri Kennedi, Ory, Payton, Brayden and Amelia. He is preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Wayne Sparkman, parents, Arthur and Olive Sparkman, siblings, Dorothy Temple, Bobbie Nell Dubois, Jimmy Sparkman, Doris June Hamilton and Danny Sparkman. Louis was a member of First Baptist Church Zachary for over 47 years and was a Deacon.
