Jodi Rae Hurst Daigle (Toot), 46, of Gonzales, passed away peacefully on March 9th after a long and courageous battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jodi will be remembered by all for her amazing faith in God and his plan for her as well as her fighting spirit. Her memory will live on in all who loved and adored her. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Sunday March 11th from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm and at Zachary United Methodist Church in Zachary Monday March 12th from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm with Pastor Ricky Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Azalea Rest Cemetery. Arrangements are by Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary. Jodi was born in Baton Rouge to Kenneth and Kay Arbuthnot Hurst on March 11th 1971. She resided in Zachary and graduated in 1989 from Zachary High. Jodi is preceded in death by her grandparents Stephen Franklin and Alma McKay Arbuthnot, Kennon and Mary Rogers Hurst, father in law and mother in law Floyd Joseph Daigle and Winnie Simoneaux Daigle. Jodi is survived by her husband Perry Daigle, her son Richard Wayne Hayden III (Trace), her parents Kenneth and Kay Arbuthnot Hurst ,her brother Stephen M. Hurst, Her step daughters Kylie Lynn Daigle, and Kensie Rose Lasseigne and grandson, Gavin Lasseigne, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Kennon Lee Hurst, Scott Turner, Don Deville, Perry Daigle, Jeffery Ourso, and Rudy Thibideaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Lee Hurst, James V. Williams III, Brad Davis, and Barry Brasseaux. The Daigle family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Bridgeway Hospice of Gonzales, MD Anderson Cancer Center of Houston Texas, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center of Baton Rouge/Gonzales, Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center of Baton Rouge, Sister Dulce Maria, and Zachary United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the American Liver Foundation, or Cypress Springs Mercedarian Prayer Center.
