Judith “Judy” Lee Jackson passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2018. She was 77 years old. Judy was a native of Clinton, Louisiana and was a graduate of Clinton High School.
Judy is survived by her life partner of 14 years, Barbara Nunnery; daughters Jill Hodges and partner Robin, and Jane Hodges Coulter and husband Abraham; sisters Jeanne Rodriguez, and Janelle Young and husband Rick.Judy is preceded in death by her infant son Jack Nelson Hodges, Jr., daughter Lesly Joy Hodges Gautreau, parents Holice Tolar Jackson, Sr. and Josie Maxine Hubbs Jackson and brother Holice Tolar Jackson, Jr. Judy enjoyed good food, cooking, classical music and opera, gardening and was an avid reader. She loved animals and had numerous pets throughout her life including dogs, cats and a parrot and enjoyed feeding wild birds.
Visitation will be at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 11015 Church Street in Clinton on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday at 9:00 am. Funeral service will be at St. Andrews at 11:00 am with Father Don Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church Parish Hall following interment.
