Obituary for Robert Hilton "Bubba" Butler Jr.

Robert H. “Bubba” Butler, Jr. died at his home on Angola on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. He was 67 years old and was retired from Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola with 48 years of service. Bubba was a US National Guard veteran. Visitation will be at Tunica Methodist Church on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 from 12pm until 9pm and continues on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Rev. Mike Clark and Bro. Davey Kelone. Burial will be in Feliciana Cemetery, St. Francisville. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cydney Lee Butler. 3 sons, Chad Butler and wife, Melissa; Trampus Butler and wife Angela and Cody Butler and wife, Mandi. His parents, Robert Hilton, Sr. and Omah Borden Butler. 3 sisters, Brenda Priddy and husband, Jim Ed; Susie Evans and Patti Varner and husband Kendall. 7 grandchildren, Taylor (Tee) McGrath, Tyler (Amber) Butler, Tarabeth Butler, Bransley Butler, Blanche Butler, Dax Butler and Aubree Butler. 2 great grandchildren, Stuart McGrath and Eli Butler. He is preceded in death by a grandson, William Bransley Butler and a brother in law, Jerry Evans. Pallbearers will be Louis Viviano, Darrel Vannoy, Robert Tycer, Jimmy Cruze, Bruce Dodd, Jon Cheramie, Joe Lamartinere and Chad Menzina. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Oliveaux, Billy Travis, Allan “Bubba” Martin, Alan Johnson, Bobby Joe Aertker, Jamie Coley, Angie Norwood, Jesse Toney and Joe Lee Norwood, Sr. Bubba was an avid hunter in his beloved Tunica Hills and he loved to fish in the Gulf at his second home in Grand Isle. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Chaille Daniel and hospice nurse, Pam Stower.
