Obituary for James Charles "Jay" Moore

James Charles Moore “Jay”, 79, a resident of Kingwood, TX and a longtime resident of Bluff Creek, LA, died on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Clinton from 9am until funeral services at 10am. Burial will be at Moore Family Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beth Moore; two daughters: Anne Swaim and her husband Eddie of Murfreesboro, TN; Laura Nettles and her husband Joe of Caledonia, MS; two sons: Neil Moore and his wife Mary of Kingwood, TX; Charles Moore and his wife Janet of Kingwood, TX; two sisters: Gracie Hardy of Abbeville, LA; Mercedes Tierney of Bayou Vista, LA: thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Loranza Moore. Pallbearers will be James Moore, Royce Nettles, Stephen Swaim, Ted Swaim, Amed Verastegui, Zachary Swaim, and Matthew Moore. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was an outdoorsman and he enjoyed travel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer’s Organizations or to the charity of your choice.
