Obituary for Thomas "Bo" Tate

Thomas Earl Tate, “Bo”, 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 19, 2017. He died peacefully at his home in Jackson, LA with his loving wife of 40 years at his side. He was a member of Healing Place Church, St. Francisville, LA. He was retired, after working for over 28 years for Dixon Correctional Institute.
Uncle Bo, as he was known to his many adoring nieces and nephews, and Paw Paw to his grandchildren, Bo was born on June 21, 1952 to Ira Tate, Jr. and his wife Norma Easley Tate. A strong man with a kind heart, Bo served as a baseball coach for the East Feliciana Little League. Known as an excellent cook, Bo also enjoyed camping as a member of the Lazy Bones camping group.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Healing Place Church in St. Francisville, LA from 5pm until 8pm and then on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 9am until funeral services at 10am, conducted by Rev. Timmy Strait. Burial will be in Dawson Family Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Paula McGee Tate; two sons, Damien Austin Tate and his wife Kayla Rome Tate of Baton Rouge; Derek Dwayne Tate and his fiancé Rebecca Butler of Jackson, LA; one sister, Donna Tate Cooper of Jackson; one brother, Mike Tate and his wife Belinda; and two grandchildren: Blaine Wood and Abigail Tate. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Healing Place Church in St. Francisville.
