Obituary for Vita Edie Kerry
Vita “Edie” Kerry, 83, a resident of Baker, LA, died at her residence on Thursday, January 5, 2017. She was a former employee of Jacobs Engineering, where she worked for 16 years and also a former Teacher’s Aide at Baker High School. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA, from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 9, 2017 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Baker, Louisiana from 10am until funeral mass at 12noon, conducted by Fr. Charles Swanson. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Baker, LA. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jesse T. Kerry; daughter Kathleen K. Bates of Zachary, LA; two sons, Michael J. Kerry and wife Terri of Shreveport, LA; Matthew J. Kerry of Livingston, LA; former son-in-law Willys Gerald of Murfreesboro, TN; sister Marion Lebo of Engelwood, Florida; eleven grandchildren: Brad Kerry, Melissa Syperek, Chauntell Kerry, Jessica Bates, Erika Bates, Christopher Bates, Shannon Guerra, Moriah Kerry, Natalie Gerald, Dustin Gerald, Paul Gerald, thirteen great-grandchildren; special niece Viki Knutson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Kerry Gerald; her mother, Elena Fabiano; and her father Gasper Fabiano. Pallbearers will be Brad Kerry, Terry Venable, Paul Venable, and Kenny Richard.
