Obituary for Jimmy O. Jones

Jimmy O. Jones, born September 27, 1939, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at the age of 76. He was a resident of Grangeville, LA. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis “Babe” Jones and Maurine Tynes Jones; his wife, Norma Gayle Browning Jones; daughter Lynda Vione Gurney Rayburn; and sister Betty Jo Jones Bunch. Jimmy is survived by his daughters; Annette Jones Fucich and husband, Timothy Fucich, Brenda Gurney Tynes, and husband, Ray Tynes, Beverly “DeeDee” Gurney Fleniken and husband Lyman Fleniken, and Barbara Gurney McMorris and husband Larry McMorris; and grandson, David Gurney. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jones Bellavia, brother, Wayne Jones, and brother, Autry Jones; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Serving as pallbearers is David Gurney, Nicholas Tynes, Brennan Fucich, Bobby McMorris, Ashton Guidry, Kelly Bellavia, Brother Bunch, Donnie Burton, and Ty Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Fleniken and Don Carter. Visiting will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Bluff Creek Baptist Church from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Rev. Michael Townsend with interment immediately to follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Pride. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association At 2424 Edenborn Avenue #660, Metairie, LA 70001.
