Margaret Diane Varnado, “Sugar”, 65, a resident of Central, LA, died on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 9am until funeral services at 10am, conducted by Rev. Roger Mitchell. Burial will be at Eastern Star Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Greg Poe; daughter, Michelle Varnado Callender of Jackson; son, Stanley E. Varnado of Central; step-daughter Brandy Roberts of Port Allen, LA; one sister, Judy Murphy and husband Eddie; three brothers: Robert E. Brumfield and his wife Rose; Bobby Brumfield and his wife Elbie; Alfred Lewis Brumfield and his wife Diane; four grandchildren: Katherine Leigh; Shyann Callender; Nicholas Varnado; Chance Roberts; and two great-grandchildren Chandler Leigh and Braxton Welch. She is also survived by her loving puppy, Mikey. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Margaret Brumfield; brothers R.L. Miller; Billy Brumfield; and Lonnie Brumfield; sister Betty Lou Lanclos; and husband Stanley E. Varnado Sr. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Poe, Donald Martin, William Brumfield, Kyle Sagely, Alton Teekal, and Jacob Roark. She was a wonderful cook who loved to feed everyone. She enjoyed rose gardening. She was a football fan who always cheered for LSU and the Saints.
