Obituary for Lynn Joseph "Joe" Aldridge Jr.

Lynn Joseph Aldridge, Jr., known to all as Joe, born on March 14,
1944, died in the early hours of 2 September 2018. He will be
remembered as the person many called on in times of trouble. He was a
true friend and problem solver. While his main role was that of a
farmer and he held 2 bachelor degrees from Southeastern Louisiana
University in plant and animal science, he led a busy and full life.
After graduating college, he served in the US Army spending a year
stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam war. His gift in
electronics won him a position there on an electronics testing and
calibration team. As a result of his service in Korea, he became
involved in photography.
His skill as a photographer was evident when he worked as a cameraman
for a TV studio and went on to doing work for Tulane University and
Louisiana State University football teams shooting and developing game
films. Because of his skill, he was sought for personal photography
and worked with models, spending his spare time taking wedding and
event photos. He ran a production studio, Louisiana Film Service in
Baton Rouge for a number of years.
He also ran a successful real estate management corporation until his
death. He was an avid fisherman and regretted that his fight with
cancer kept his boat out of the water for the last 3 years of his
life. He will be missed as serving as Santa at many local functions
and remaining active in local groups.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. In
Zachary with private interment at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery in
Baton Rouge, near the graves of his mother, Mary Rogillio Aldridge,
father, Lynn Joseph Aldridge, Sr., and a brother Henry Lee who
preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Joyce
Aldridge, nephew, Michael Lynn Sioris and significant other, Sally
Hutchinson of Central. He was an active member of Plains Presbyterian
Church.
