Obituary for Michael Conrad "Mike" Peairs

Michael Conrad ‘Mike’ Peairs passed away on August 1, 2018 at the age of 67. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA and life long resident of Deerford, LA where he raised beef cattle on the family farm. He was a graduate of Pride High School, attended Northwestern State, and graduated from SouthEastern in Agriculture. He served on the ASCS committee, was a member of the Pride Farm Improvement Club, and a member of Deerford Methodist Church. He enjoyed cooking for fundraisers, meetings, friends, and was famous for his BBQ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his sister Kathleen P. Harrison, nephew Thomas Harrison and wife Tish, niece Heather Harrison, and numerous cousins of which he was closest to Bob and Win Kelly, Mitzi Peairs, and Hannah Schmidt. He was preceded in death by parents Conrad and Jessie Lee Slaton Peairs. Pallbearers will be Bob Kelly, Win Kelly, Thomas Harrison, Scot Peairs, Rogers Mestepey, and Jimmy Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Millican, Gerald St. Romain, Jerry Cooper, and Mantle Austin. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Redwood Cemetery c/o Julia McKey, P.O. Box 247, Slaughter, LA 70777. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018 from 9am until service at 10:30am conducted by Pastor Caleb Schmidt. Burial will be in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter.
