Stephen Ronald Blackwell, was tragically rear-ended on his motorcycle on his way to work at Elysian Seafood in New Orleans on Friday, June 22, 2018. Stephen was a resident of Baton Rouge and was 27 years old. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. Visitation continues on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary from 9am until 10:30am. Eulogy will be given at 10:45am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11am. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. He is survived by his wife of 7 weeks, Taylor Blackwell. 2 sons, Landon Michael and Stephen Christian. Parents, Ronnie and Susan Blackwell. Siblings, Brandon and wife, Jen; Rene’; Paul and wife, Julie; Christopher; Matthew and wife, Ashley; Jonathan and wife, Melanie; Timothy and Kaeli; Rebecca and fiancé’, Trey and Anthony. Grandmother, Sally Blackwell, mother in law, Penny Grace, brothers in law and sister in law, Ryan Grace, Peyton Grace and David Grace and many loving cousins including his best friend, Michael Roberts. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ellis Blackwell and Ed Roberts and grandmother, Dorothy Roberts, father in law, Joseph Grace and his best friend, Obi. Pallbearers will be his brothers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Leger, Brian Miller, Shawn Kimble, Andrew Roberts and Luke St. Pierre. Stephen was loved by all those that knew him. He lived his life to the fullest and was always quick to laugh and shared his love of life with all he met. He loved deeply: friends, family, and especially Taylor and his sons, Landon and Christian. Whether it was playing X-box or with Obi, or just hanging out, he did everything with passion. His light in our lives will be missed, but forever will remain in our hearts. Stephen was a 2008 graduate of Zachary High School.
