I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Ashford's passing. She was one of my professors in graduate school at SU, and I also had the privilege of teaching her grandson, Grady, at Zachary High. Dr. Ashford was one of the kindest and most intelligent people that have encountered. She was always supportive during my time in graduate school, and her passing is a great loss to all who knew her.
