Obituary for Wilton Borskey

Began eternal rest May 23, 2018, the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was 92 years young.

Join his family in a celebration of his life on Wednesday, May 30 from 5-8 PM at Charlet Funeral home in Zachary, Louisiana. Visiting will resume Thursday, May 31 from 9-11 AM. A celebration service starts at 11 AM at Charlet Funeral Home, conducted by Reverend Jim Gross. Interment will be at Beulah Plains Cemetery.

Born February 12, 1926, to John C. and Anita Borskey of Port Hudson, Louisiana, he was larger than life. Mr. Wilton or “Uncle Buck” enjoyed making people laugh by stretching the truth in his stories and jokes. He loved his family, friends, and the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he faithfully served, seldom missing a service at Port Hudson Baptist Church.

He was very patriotic and proudly served in the Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Upon returning home he became a roughneck in the oil field. He and his brother, JC “Buddy” Borskey co-owned Borskey Tree Service.

He is survived by his faithful wife of 74 years, Mary Gilchrist Borskey; his beloved dogs Buddy and Mollie; one son, David and his wife Pat, of Port Hudson, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Bill Borskey, of Seattle, Washington, and Jennifer Bengs and husband Chris, of Tucson, Arizona; and two great grandsons; Caleb Borskey and Shane Garcia.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, his brothers: JC “Buddy”, Eddie, George, and Woodrow Borskey; one sister Mabel Parrish; an infant daughter Mary Phyllis, and a grandson, Dave Borskey, Jr. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers are Dave Borskey, Bill Borskey, Caleb Borskey, Shane Garcia, George Borskey, Jr., Woodrow Borskey, and Joey St Germain. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Peterman and Russell Whetstone.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
