Obituary for Lillie Katherine Hebert DeLee

Lillie Katherine Hebert DeLee – November 29, 1928 to May 23, 2018
This scripture was the heartbeat of the teachings of our parents and the life they led.

She met her late husband, A. W. DeLee, Jr., in St. Francisville in 1946, married and lived there until moving to East Feliciana Parish in 1967. Her imagination, creativity, and ability to care for others were only a few of her many talents.
Visitation will be at Clear Creek United Methodist Church, 17887 Hwy 432, Clinton, LA 70722, on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 9am until religious service at 11am conducted by Rev. Ted Fine. Burial will be in Clear Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, Clinton.
She leaves behind her four children: A. W. III “Billy” and Shelley Dohmann—Clinton, Louisiana; Kathlyn Arlene “Kathy” and Glen Zumbro—Bude, Mississippi; Sharon Yvonne and Terry Breaux, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Carlin Minette and Doug Varnado—Denham Springs, Louisiana. Ten grandchildren: Chea Zumbro (Chris) Branning-McComb, Mississippi; Curt (Candice) Breaux—Montgmery, Texas; Chonda Zumbro—Bude, Mississippi; Melissa Breaux (Tommy) Bonaventure—Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Randy (Adriana) DeLee—Tallahassee, Florida; Spencer (Victoria) Varnado—Walker, Louisiana; Christopher (Alexi) Breaux—Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Michael (Christine) DeLee—New Orleans, Louisiana; Marshall (Emily) Varnado—Watson, Louisiana; and Jeffrey (Amber) DeLee—Angie, Louisiana. Twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. One sister Gertrude “Peanut” Hebert Vercher-Alexandria, Louisiana. Two Brothers J. H. Hebert—Newark, Missouri, and Willie (Fran) Hebert—Many, Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace Hebert and Gertrude and Buster Doran, one sister Wanda Lee Hebert Crabtree, and brothers J. D., Walter, and Billy Hebert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary Pallbearer is Kevin Vercher. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Clear Creek Methodist Church, PO Box 148, Clinton, LA 70722. We especially thank all the staff at Grace Health and Rehab, Mary Morgan Dufour, Marcia Rome and the staff at The Carpenter House for assisting in her care during her battle with Alzheimer’s.
