Obituary for John Stark McGehee

McGehee, John Stark, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was a native and resident of Zachary and a retired pipefitter from Exxon with 33 years of service.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Pastor John Rosenstern. Burial will follow in Young Family Cemetery.

John is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Lisa Bloom McGehee, daughter, Lindsay McGehee Young, son, John Ryan McGehee, sisters, Mary Elizabeth McGehee and Mabel McGehee Lillie, brother, Edward Lionel McGehee Jr and wife, Ann, grandson, Landry Robert Young and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E.L. and Margaret McGehee, one sister, Margaret Ann Samuel and two brothers, Thomas Harry McGehee and Wilmer "Bill" McGehee. Pallbearers will be Tommy Samuel, Brent Bloom, Mike Orendorf, Randy Rot​h, Darron Lillie and Rob Gray​.

John was an avid hunter, fisherman and a proud US Marine serving in the Vietnam War but most of all, loved spending time with his family and friends.
