Obituary for Darrin Christopher Vince

Darrin Christopher Vince, 49, a resident of East Feliciana Parish, passed away Sunday January 28th, 2018. He was joined in death by his sister-in-law Madeline Pendergist Hemba and her son Joseph. He is survived by his loving wife Tatum Pendergist Vince; daughters Emily, Riley, and Mallory; son Patrick and his wife Rachel and their daughter Audrey; father Pat Vince and wife Nan; mother Patricia Bates and husband Charles; sister Erin Vincent and husband Ben; sister Gia Wallace and husband Glynn; brother Kevin Vince and wife Cristina; brother-in-law Joseph Hemba; father-in-law Richard (Dickey) Pendergist and wife Darlene; mothers-in-law Becky and Renee Tatum; nieces and nephews Kelsey, Ron, and Natalie Anders, Kyle and Kaitlyn Vince, Mac, Rose, and Sam Wallace, Evangeline and Isaac Vincent, and Rebecca Hemba. He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Vince and grandparents Oscar and Gloria Vince, and Joseph and Rosalie Rinaudo. After graduating from Belaire High School, Darrin, along with his brother, joined his father's business, Pat's Home Center. Since 1991 he selflessly served others by growing the family-owned business into a valuable resource for the towns of Saint Francisville, Clinton and Central, and surrounding communities. In addition to Pat's, he became a licensed general contractor, building custom homes for countless families. He was an avid outdoorsman and passionate about CrossFit; his contagious enthusiasm recruited many to the sport within the Zachary area. Though he relentlessly worked to accomplish many goals, he also knew his God-given purpose: change the lives of others and the ones you love in the process. He was the rock of the family and they were his pride and joy, especially his wife of 13 years, his four children and his new granddaughter.     

Pallbearers will be Pat, Patrick, Kevin, and Kyle Vince, Paul Jackson, Tim Stelly, Mike Causey, Justin Cowart, Johnny Giammanchere; honorary pallbearers are Ronnie, Jacob, Daniel, and Mason Pendergist, Glynn Wallace, Ben Vincent, Ron Anders, Michael McAnelly, Christian DeJean, Vick Fisher, J. Dunn, John Kent, Tanner Hilliard, Fabian Herrera and the CrossFit family, Ron Anderson, Joe Amorello, Jason Jackson, Jesse Easley, JD, Willie, Jonathan, Jett, Phillip, and the Pat's Home Center family. 

The visitation will be held from 10am-2pm on Friday, February 2 at First Baptist Church of Zachary followed by a funeral service starting at 2pm. His burial will take place at Star Hill Cemetery in St. Francisville.

Darrin's family would like to extend their gratitude to the Zachary Fire Department, Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries, Eastside Fire Department Dive Team, and West Feliciana Sheriff's Department. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Darrin's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to a bank account that has been set up at Bank of Zachary in the name Eastside Fire Department Dive Team towards dive equipment: Bank of Zachary, PO Box 497, Zachary, LA 70791. Make checks to “Eastside Fire Dept. Dive Team”, in memo write “Benefit Fund.”
