Obituary for Michael K "Mike" Souter

Souter, Michael "Mike" K., 68, a lifelong resident of Clinton, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, January 8, 2018. He was a retired motor vehicle officer with the Department of Motor Vehicles with 33 years of service. He was a 1967 graduate of Silliman and attended Southwest Mississippi Community College.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 1290 Highway 67, (Plank Road) Slaughter, LA 70777 from 10:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm conducted by Rev. Rusty Bowser. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery, Clinton.
Mike is survived by his significant companion for 20 years, Evelyn Carbo Phillips, step sons, Michael Phillips and Brandon Phillips, Sister, Angela P. Wright, grandchildren who he loved like his own, Ayden Phillips, McKenzie Phillips, Jackson Phillips, Austin Phillips and Chloe Phillips, nieces and nephews, Rivers Pendarvis, Haley Pendarvis, Britt Wright and family and Casey Whittington and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Rivers Pendarvis Sr and Barronece Bond Pendarvis, Brothers, Eddie "Penny" R. Pendarvis Jr and Charles "Speedy" H. Pendarvis. Pallbearers will be Paul Barothy, Ayden Phillips, Michael Phillips, Rivers Pendarvis, Brandon Phillips and Rusty Bond. Honorary pallbearers are Don Holmes Jr., Britt Wright, Wally Shipley, Willard "Sonny" Whitt and Gail Gee.
