Obituary for Joan Marie Austen (Lawson)
A resident of Baker, Joan died on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. She was 82 years old and former secretary at Goodwood Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church.
Memorial visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 from 11am until service at 12:30pm. Inurnment will be at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly McConkey and husband, Gregory. 2 grandchildren, Jeremy McConkey and Mallory McConkey and a sister, Ruby Lawson Norris.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wickliff Austen, Jr., 4 sisters, Hilda McGeHee, Minnie Gordon, Hazel Gordon and Eve Griffin and 5 brothers, Ed, Willie, Robert, Mervin and Jim Lawson.
Special thanks to the entire staff at Lane Regional Medical Center for all the love and support given to our family over the last few months.
