Obituary for Charles Ray Petty

Charles Ray Petty, a resident of Slaughter, LA, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 15, 2017. He was 93 years old. He retired from Exxon after 38 years, where he was referred to as "Baby Ray".

Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 from 9am until service at 11am. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Clinton.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynnie (Bob) McCord of Slaughter; two sons, C. Wayne (Cheryl) Petty of Lillian, Alabama and A. Richard Petty of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.



He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, June N. Petty, grandson, Talmadge Ray “Tal” McCord, two brothers, James Petty and Marvin Petty and one sister, Arie Mae Harrell.
