Obituary for Kay Dillon Davis


Kay Dillon Davis, 78, passed away peacefully after a short battle with breast cancer on Monday, October 2, 2017. She was a current resident of Port Allen, former resident of St. Francisville, an a member of Port Hudson Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, from 10:00 am until service time at 12Noon conducted by Rev. Jim Gross. Burial will follow in Star Hill Cemetery, Star Hill, LA.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Charla Jarreau and husband Jody, Tammie Hernandez and husband Gus, son, Ricky Merritt and girlfriend, Faye, step daughter, Diane Davis and stepson, Randy Davis and wife Ruthie, brother, Robert "Bobby" Dillon and wife JoAnn, sisters in law, Clair Davis Ricks and Ann Smith, grandchildren, Sammy Rumfola, Justin Rumfola, Clint Rumfola, Chris Jarreau, Nicole Merritt, Ricky Merritt, Jr., Sitman Moses, Jr., Hank Moses, Jeremy Merritt, Lacy Merritt, Jordan Merritt and Diana Clair Davis, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Davis, parents, Vernon and Gladys McDuffy Dillon, son, David Earl Merritt, granddaughter, Jessica Merritt, great granddaughter, Grayson Rumfola and sister, Patsy Porche. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Jody Jarreau, Gus Hernandez and Ricky Merritt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society. The family wishes to say special thanks to Debra Weatherford, Connie Merritt, Sherry Godbold and Melvina Merritt for all the special care given to our mother in her time of need.
