Obituary for Walker Justice "Billy Jack" Nichols Jr.

Walker "Billy Jack" Nichols Jr., 70, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was retired, after working as a supervisor for Syngenta for nearly 40 years. He also worked as Chief Starter for the State Capitol Dragway and Safety Safari for the NHRA Drag Racing for 20 years. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm with a 7pm funeral service, conducted by Rev. Ricky Howell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beth Nichols; two daughters, Redessa Lyons and husband Keith of Wheeling, WV; Katrina Allen and her husband Wesley of French Settlement, LA; one son, Derek Nichols of Baton Rouge; four sisters: Rose Kirkland; Stella Gilmore and husband Ronald; Doris Simmons; Brenda Jones and husband Johnny; seven grandchildren: Ricky Nelson, Stormee Nichols, Daniel-Justice Lyons, Kaden Lyons, Maddox Allen, Courtney Nichols, Isabella Allen; great-grandchildren: Ashtyn Nichols and Bentley Desselle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. And, finally, he is survived by his niece Tammy Neames, who was like a daughter to him, and her husband Keith. He was preceded in death by his parents Walker Justice Nichols Sr. and Edna Brooks Nichols; brother Freddie Nichols; sister Robbie Bennet; mother-in-law Marie Graham.
