Obituary for Jeanne Nelms Rogillio

Jeanne was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Thursday morning, August 10, 2017. She was 88 years old.

Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home Inc. in Zachary on Sunday, August 13, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and at First Baptist Church in Jackson on Monday, August 14, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service, which will be conducted by Dr. Joe Nesom. Burial will be immediately following the service at the McQueen Family Cemetery in Jackson.

Jeanne was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Jackson for over 50 years, faithfully serving as a Bible study leader and women’s leader. She worked for several years as a social services counselor at Villa and later as an addiction counselor at Blue Walters Treatment Center at East.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Henry Rogillio; a daughter, Cindy Rogillio; son, Steve Rogillio, and daughter-in-law, Kerri, all of Jackson.

She is also survived by her sister, Gail Mattson and brother-in-law, Vic, of Santa Rosa, CA; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay, Laura and Mason Rogillio; a great grandson, Nolan Mitchell; and former daughter-in-law, Donna Heaton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Mary Nelms; a sister, Pat Alford, and brother-in-law, Jesse Alford.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Baton Rouge -- in particular our primary hospice nurse, Charmaine -- for the excellent care and encouragement they provided for the entire family. We would also like to acknowledge our deep appreciation for Jeanne’s faithful sitters: Mildred, Martie, Rosemary, Rhonda, Bernadine, Sadie and Joyce.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jackson Building Fund.
