Alvin Kenneth Yoes, 79, died on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home in St. Francisville.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Francisville. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Schroeder Yoes, sister, Ruby Lee Arnold and husband James, nieces and nephews, Lori Prather and husband Mike, Rusty Arnold, Dusty Arnold and wife Meghan, Dr. Michael Salassi and wife Brenda, Dr. Jan Jouett and husband Dr. Ray and friends, Wally Neal and wife, Yvonne. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lena Yoes. Pallbearers will be Wally Neal, Dr. Michael Salassi, Dr. Ray Jouett, Doug Lawton, Rusty Arnold, Dusty Arnold, Ronnie Bourque and Paul Neal.
Alvin graduated from Baker High School, attended LSU and served in the US Air Force. He worked in a range of occupations over his career including time at Hernandez Ice Company, Firestone Tires, Hilbun Tractor Company, as well as several years in the cattle and commercial fishing businesses.
