Obituary for Robert I "Bob" Michaelson
Robert “Bob” I. Michaelson of Zachary, LA passed away July 26,2017. He was born January 5, 1942, in Oceanport, NJ. He proudly served in The United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam Era. He retired from Georgia Pacific with 31 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Katherine Rushing Michaelson, son Robert Dale and spouse Lisa of Watson, La, daughter Stephanie M. East and spouse Brian of Zachary,LA. Grandchildren, Steven Kelley, Madison Michaelson, Catherine Chatelain, Aiden East and Connor East. Two step-grandsons Nicholas and Jeremy Bihm. Sisters, Roberta Wewe of Duncanville,Tx and Michelle Massine of Hardin, MT. Brothers Christopher Michaelson Sr. of Rochester, WA and Stephen Michaelson of Tx. He is proceeded in death by his parents Robert Irving Sr. and Dorothy F. Michaelson, stepmothers, Dorothy P. Michaelson and Rose M. Michaelson, and grandson, Christopher Kelley. A memorial service will be held at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary, LA on August 1,2017, from 10:00 am until a religious service at 1:30pm. Inurnment with military honors at The Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant Road, Zachary, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We would like to thank the Carpenter House for the excellent care they provided.
