Obituary for Lois Peairs

Lois Peairs, 92, died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Lane Nursing Home in Zachary. She was the youngest of 7 children of Robert Isaac and Hettie Ollie Powell Peairs. She was a 1942 Graduate of Zachary High School and a graduate of Baton Rouge Business College. Lois was a member of Deerford United Methodist Church and served the church in many capacities over her life time including membership Secretary, Communion Steward, and typing and printing the bulletin just to name a few. Lois worked for National Life and Accident Insurance Company as a secretary for 39 years. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Lane Memorial Hospital for 35 years (since 1982) with over 6000 hours of service. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Hettie Mae Peairs Decker, and her brothers, Robert, Preston "Pete", Edwin, Joseph "Joe" and Conrad. Lois was famous for her Buttermilk Pound cake and candy.

Visitation will all be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 9:00 am until service time at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Redwood Cemetery.
