Obituary for Louis Leamon Lutrick

Louis Leamon Lutrick of Baker, La. was surrounded by family as he entered into Sweet Beulah Land on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Louis was born on December 22, 1932. Raised in Hebert, La., he served in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves and is a veteran of the Korean War. An avid runner and gardener throughout his life, he retired from Exxon Mobil after 37 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Baker, Louisiana. Louis was a wonderful example and role model to anyone who had the honor of knowing him. He taught everyone in his family and beyond the true meaning of unconditional love.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, George and Georgie Lutrick; his brothers, Monroe Lutrick, O’Grady Lutrick and GW Lutrick; his in-laws, Willis and Mattie Maxwell; and a grandson-in-law, Scott Cryer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carlene Lutrick; six daughters and their husbands, Terry and Paul Pierce, Georgie and Greg McKowen, Laura and Buster Peel, Lori and Dale Martin, Vicki and Russell White and Joni and Scotty Owens; 21 grandchildren and 12 grandchildren-in-law; Charity and Jason Guilbeau, Benjamin and Jessica Pierce, Jonathon and Leslie Pierce, Faith and Jared Horta, Joseph and Taylor Pierce, James and Kelly Covington, Mark and Brooke Covington, JW and Brittney McKowen, Wil and Katie McKowen, Kristen and Mike Caccavo, Kyle and Kristen Peel, Kourtney Peel, Joshua Martin, Jessica and Josh Rodrigue, Jordan Martin, Rebekah White, Lauren White, Emma White, Evan White, Mattie Owens and Rylee Owens; and 18 great-grandchildren, Hope Cryer, Levi and Nathan Guilbeau, Elle and Emery Pierce, Natalie Horta, Abigail, Andrew and Abel Louis Covington, Taylor Covington, Aniston, Elly and Reed McKowen, Reese Caccavo, Madison Forbes, Khloe Peel, Greisyn Carnegie and Charlyse Young. And brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carson and Leal Linton.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Baker, La. on Wednesday, July 5, from 5-8 pm and Thursday, July 6 from 9-10:30 am followed by a celebratory music service at 10:30 am and funeral service at 11 am. Burial service with military honors will be held at Louisiana National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Pall bearers will be his eleven grandsons.
