Obituary for James Tellis Herron
James Tellis Herron was born June 21, 1931 in Mangham, La and died on March 18, 2017. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever”. He was loved by many and will be missed, but we know his current address is in Heaven. A former resident of Wisner, Angola, St. Gabriel, St. Francisville and Greensburg, more recently he was a resident of Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs, LA. He is survived by his sister, Peggy Herron Pittman, son and daughter in law, Darryl and Toni Herron, daughter and son in law, Cathy and Mike Roberts. Grandchildren, Lacey (Tommy) Haywood, Kacey (Marcus Roy) Roberts, Jennifer Smith, Jackie (Kevin) Mistric, Brent (Ashley) Roberts, Brittany (Nick) Johnston. Great grandchildren, Brady, Wesley Hayleigh, Bella Abby, Mason and Nolan, numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Doris Wells Herron, son, James Wesley Herron, parents, Theodore and Gettis Herron, brother, T.R. Herron, Jr., sister, Annie Pearl Herron Mulkey, nephew, Mark Mulkey, brothers in law, sisters in law and wonderful friends. He was retired from LA State Penitentiary and enjoyed fishing, singing and telling tales. He loved the Lord. Thank you to the staff of Harvest Manor Nursing Home for the care provided to Daddy. Special appreciation to Oschner Medical Center nurses, Kristen, Anne, and Mary Linda for the medical treatment for our dad and the love and compassion extended to us. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Monday, Mar. 20, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Tuesday, Mar. 21, 2017 from 9am until service at 10am conducted by Pastor Joey Hoyt. Burial will be in Rogillio Cemetery, Tunica.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mulkey. Dean Boies, Adam Smith, Kevin Mistric, Nick Johnston and Marcus Roy.
