Obituary for Marjorie Munson Milton

Marjorie Munson Milton, 86, a resident of Baker, LA, died on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at her home. She worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish School system for over 16 years as an elementary music teacher. Visitation will be on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Baker United Methodist Church from 6pm until 8pm and then on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 10am until funeral services at 11am. Burial will be at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary. She is survived by one son, Tim Milton and his wife Debby Milton; three daughters: Kim Milton Smith and her husband Rodney Smith; Shannon Milton Howell and her husband Bob Howell; Corki Milton Brumley and her husband Kenny Brumley; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Jackson Milton; parents Carl and Gertie Munson; brothers Richard Munson and Pete Munson. Margie enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren individually so that each one of them proudly whispers "I was her favorite". She always had a song on her heart and enjoyed teaching children the joys of music at various elementary schools in the Parish. Margie began playing the organ at First Methodist Church when she was only 16 years old and continued to serve in that capacity until recent years. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing quilts for family and friends. Pallbearers will be Matt Smith, Joshua Halley, Morgan Renfroe, Pat Milton, Mark Milton, and Joshua Milton.
