Obituary for Richard Theodore Aucoin
Richard Theodore Aucoin, age 74, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017. He was a 1960 graduate of Istrouma High School, a United States Navy veteran, and was retired from the Baton Rouge Fire Department as Chief Safety Officer with 30 years of service. During his years at the Fire Department, he served as president of Baton Rouge Firefighters Union Local 557. Richard loved hunting and fishing and was a very passionate person.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 9:00 am until service at 11:30 am. Burial will be at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary.
He is survived by three children; Richard C. Aucoin and wife Kathy, Todd Aucoin and wife Aimee and Carla Jean Aucoin; brother, Rodger Aucoin and wife Jo Ann; sister Terri Lynn Aucoin Warner and husband Jerry; seven grandchildren: Ricky Aucoin, Robby Aucoin, Cassi Schexnayder and husband Jonathan, Paul Aucoin and wife Danielle, T.C. Aucoin and wife Becky, Kristis Baird and Brooke Baird; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters due in June.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Wilma Aucoin.
