Thomas Grimmer "Tom"  Carlton Sr.
Thomas Grimmer Carlton Sr., “Tom”, “TC”, "Gramp", 72, a lifetime resident of Central, LA, died on Friday, February 17, 2017. He was retired, after working for over 35 years for DSM Copolymer. There will be a graveside funeral service at Louisiana National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:15pm, with military honors. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edna B. Carlton; three sons, Thomas G. Carlton Jr. of Baton Rouge; David G. Carlton and his wife Tammy of Walker; Thomas G. Carlton III and his wife Leagh Ann of Greenwell Springs; one daughter, Juannette “Peewee” Bozeman and her husband Justin “Darby” Bozeman of Denham Springs; one sister, Dorthy Cason and her husband Mike of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren Allen Thomas Carlton, Ashley Bozeman, and Amanda Bozeman; and two great-grandchildren Dottie Layne Carlton and Graeme Carlton. He was preceded in death by his father, “Buddy” Carlton; his mother, “Dottie” Carlton; his brother, “Al” Carlton; and his sister, Janet Carlton. Tom was the ultimate family man. Where ever the family needed him to be, he was always there. Gramp had a knack for keeping us out of trouble. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, grand-kids and great-grand-kids. Whether it be a baseball field, basketball court, golf course, soccer field, or dance hall, that his where he found the most joy! He was loved by everyone who knew him and had no enemies. He will be greatly missed. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, where he served in Vietnam. He received the following honors: 1st Class Gunner (81MM Mortar), Expert (Rifle M-14), Marksman (45 Pistol), 2nd Class Gunner (3.5 RL), AFEM, Air Medal (5th OLC), Good Conduct Medal, and the Purple Heart.
