Leonard Hanna, age 89, resident of Zachary for 65 years and a Navy Veteran of World War II, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm. The funeral will be held at Redwood Baptist Church, Hwy 412, Slaughter, LA on Friday conducted by Dr. Ron Aguilard. Visitation from 9am until funeral at 10am. Burial will follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Pride, LA.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Hanna; two sons, Jerry Hanna and wife Connie, of Eunice, LA and Richard Hanna, of Ethel, LA; two grandsons, Jason Hanna and wife, Amy of Lafayette and Kevin Hanna, of Eunice. A granddaughter, Monica Hanna Russell and husband, Lee, of Zachary. Two great grandsons, Mason and Carson Hanna, of Lafayette; adopted great grandson Seefen Russell, of Zachary. Great granddaughters, Caroline Hanna, of Lafayette and Madison, Chloe and Ivy Russell, all of Zachary.
Also survived by nieces Brenda Hanna, Beckie Hanna Riggs and Jackie Hall; nephews Bo Hanna, Joe Hanna, Brent Hanna, Gordon Hanna, and Rickie Hanna. Great nephew Keith Hall, great great nephew Jesse Hall, great great niece, Megan Hall and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by father, Oscar Hanna, mother, Sieur Achord Hanna, brothers, R.J. Hanna, Herbert Hanna and Petti Hanna, a sister, Beatrice Hanna Hall and husband, Jimmy Hall, Sr, nephews, Tom Hanna and Jim Hall, Jr. Niece Jean Hanna Clayton and grandson, Dusty Hanna.
Pallbearers will be Scott Thompson, Keith Day, Steve Myers, Jason Hanna, Kevin Hanna, Mason Hanna and Carson Hanna. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Wambolt and Lawrence Leet.
