Through studying EMT and nursing before moving to Louisiana, Carol found a family at the Family Service Center at Bains Lower Elementary where she stayed until she retired after 22 years in March 2016. She was known as the person to go to for computer and technical problems, help accessing or receiving a number of community services, or just a caring shoulder and a sweet treat on a hard day. She volunteered to do free tax preparation, volunteered at CASA and many other community activities over the years. She became known as Mimi with the first grandchild in 2002 and is now known as Mimi to innumerable adopted grandchildren far and wide. From raising rabbits, to clearing computer viruses, to spinning, weaving, knitting and crocheting, Mimi was a woman of numerous talents, abilities and accomplishments. Stage 4 breast cancer was found last June and took our Mimi so quickly, and while her passage was eased by the wonderful people at Bridgeway Hospice, her absence from this world is an impact that will be felt by so many until me meet again.
