Obituary for Mike Lofton

Mike Lofton, 84, a resident of Grace Rehab in Slaughter, LA, died on Monday, January 30, 2017. He was retired, after working for over 38 years for Crown Zellerbach. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. Zachary from 9:30am until funeral services at 11:30am. Burial will be at Louisiana National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patsy Cross Lofton; one daughter, Catherine Lofton of Ponchatoula, LA; two sons, Michael Lofton and his wife Leslie of Slaughter; Patrick Lofton and his fiancé Caroline Williams of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Shirley Whittington, Peggy Impson, and Brenda Tasselli; one brother, Pat Lofton; four grandchildren: Dustin Lofton; Erin Cain and her husband Marshall; Amy Hall and her husband Brian; and Jacob Lofton; and four great-grandchildren Stratton Cain, Stella Cain, Silas Cain, and Eli Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents Zach and Hazie Lofton; brothers James Lofton and JT Lofton; and sisters Irene Brister, Agnes Foreman, and Amolene Lofton. Family members will serve as pallbearers. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. He was proud to have helped many others through Alcoholics Anonymous. The family wishes to thank the staff of Grace and The Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care.
