Albert Anthony "Al"  Degler
Degler, Albert "Al" Anthony, age 65, a long time resident of Saint Francisville, passed away on December 30, 2016. Al was born in Oregon City, Oregon on March 1, 1951 to parents Rolland and Ruth Degler. Al graduated from Saint Francisville High School in 1970, then joined the US Army on January 8, 1971, serving as a radio operator in Vietnam. After receiving an honorable discharge, he continued his education and earned a double associates degree in welding and machinery. He was employed for 38 years as a maintenance mechanic at Georgia Pacific. He loved his home, the outdoors, spending time with his family and fishing at the Grand Isle Camp.

Al is survived by his wife, Cyndy Erwin Degler, Children, Ashley and husband Carlton "Rod" Turner, Jonathan Greer, Brett Degler and Jason Degler; grandchildren, Ethan and Elizabeth Turner; siblings, Cynthia Wilcox and husband Cliff "Brother", Carolyn Travis and husband Jerry, Charlotte Maxwell and husband Dale and Connie Ricketts. Al has numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Degler and is survived by his father, Rolland Degler.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm service at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary.
