Obituary for Clair Edward Spangler

Spangler, Clair Edward, 82, went to be with our Lord and Savior after a long hard fight of 16 years on Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of Ethel, LA and born in York, PA. He was a retired foreman from Lafarge /Lone Star after more than 30 years.

Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Ethel Methodist Church from 9: 00 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Chris Curry. Burial will follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery.

He was a loving and very devoted husband for 54 years to Audrey Lynn Marie Brune Spangler. He is also survived by his daughters, Darla McNab(Harvey), Christi Chatelain(Kevin), Erika Henderson(Randy), sons, Kevin "Butch" Spangler(Carol), Craig Spangler(Amanda), sisters, Hazel Sniff(George) and Carolyn Eschete(Bruce), brothers, Ervin Spangler(Beverly) and Donald Spangler, 16 grandchildren,

Trisha, Michael, kristin, Joshua, Jessica, Jourdan, Jennea, Madison, Jorrie, Shelby, Mackenzie, Breanna, skylar, Gabrielle, Randy, Emily and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edna Spangler and niece, Ann Marie Spangler. Pallbearers will be Kevin "Butch" Spangler, Craig Spangler, Randy Henderson Jr., Harvey McNab, Kevin Chatelain, Michael McNab, Michael Spangler. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Henderson III and Danny Sniff.

He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Wisconsin. He was a lifelong member of Ethel Methodist Church. He loved woodworking and helping others but most of all was dedicated to his family and grandkids.
