Obituary for Sarah Loraine Abel (Martin)
Loraine Abel passed away at 1:05 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at her daughters home. She was born February 5, 1932, she was 84, a lifelong resident of St. Francisville. She graduated from Julius Freyhan class of 1949 and attended Southeastern University. She was a secretary for Commercial Insurance Agency for years. After leaving the insurance agency, she was a secretary at St. Francisville High School and moved to West Feliciana High School after it was built and retired in 1980. A visitation will be held at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and then on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 9:00 am until religious funeral services at 10:00 am conducted by Pastor Mike Clark.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Woodville, MS.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack Abel, her father and mother, Lawrence and Sarah Martin, her brother, Charles Martin, and her first husband, Lonnie Welch; She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Lonnie and Kathy Welch, three daughters and sons in law, Marian and Duayne Watts, Kathy and David Hill, Laurie and Perry Patin Sr, grandchildren, Lacey and David Jewell, Perry and Randi K. Patin, Brandi and John Gunter, Bethany and Michael Luneau, Jamie and Beth Hill, Jack and Sarah Patin, Emily and Dane Suir, Stephanie Hill, Robert Hill, Beth and Joe Olivares, Adam and Sydney Watts, and Nicole and Jason Aubin, great grandchildren, Gabe and Jake Jewell, Alex and Valarie Patin, Savannah and Logan Gunter, Aurora Luneau, Sam and Jack and Parker Suir, Baby boy due in March, Ford Hill, Carson and Elise Olivares and Kylie Aubin. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. The family would like to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge and a special thank you to Charmaine Parent for all the care and support.
