Obituary for Osie E. Turner
Osie E. Turner,Jr., 91, a resident of the Louisiana War Vets Home, died on Sunday, July 24, 2016. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 5pm until 7pm.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11am at the Louisiana National Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Britt; and Debra Perret and her husband Nelson Perret; one sister, Virginia Harris; two grandchildren: Kyle Perret and Paige Patton; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evern Turner; son-in-law Karl Britt; sisters Mary Overton and Dorothy Fowler. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Zachary and a member of the Plains Masonic Lodge. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theater. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you visit a resident at the Louisiana War Vets Home.
