Obituary for Glenda Irene Adams Gerald

Glenda Irene Adams Gerald passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 17, 2016. After suffering the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s Disease for several years, she is now free of her earthly constraints and has entered into eternal life that Jesus promised to all who would believe in Him.

Glenda was a very loving person with a beautiful smile and she touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved her family, her church and her community in Clinton, LA where she lived out the latter part of her life before her disease took her away...

Glenda had quite a gift for decorating and gardening and her home was always a warm and inviting place for family and friends. She was a charter member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Clinton and was proud that she was able to use her gift when the new church was built and the members asked for her help.

Glenda was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on October 3, 1935, married her childhood sweetheart, John Camp in 1952 and they had 4 children. After living their early years in California, they eventually moved to Baton Rouge in the 1960s. After their divorce Glenda married Brook Gerald and they loved life together until his death almost 30 years ago.

Survived by a sister Carol (Peter) Sullivan, a brother Stan (Sandie) Adams, her son, Mike Camp, daughters Patti and husband Matt Galey, Sherri Edmonds and Terri Brewer and fiancé Jim Woody; her grandchildren Leslie, Shandra, Brooke, Lawrence, Dallas, Matthew and Sarah, a special niece, Kathy Bajek and many great-grandchildren other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Quincy and Mary Adams, a brother Jim and his wife Madeline Adams, her husband Brook Gerald and a granddaughter, Candice Aylor.

She loved well and was loved deeply.

Visitation will be at the Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary, LA on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 9am until funeral services at 12noon, conducted by Rev. Bob Wojohn. Burial will be in the Plains Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Grace Health & Rehab Center in Slaughter, LA, for the wonderful care they provided Glenda in her last years.
