Obituary for Pat Watson Richard

Pat "Grammy" Richard was accepted into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the age of 77. Pat was born December 5, 1938 in Evergreen, Alabama to Horace and Carrie Watson. She was a resident of Slaughter, La. and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. "Grammy" had a long time career of loving the Lord and her family, she was the epitome of a happy homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was to cook for her family and have them all over as often as possible. She was especially thrilled with all of her great grandbabies. Her unselfish love and generosity will always be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her. She was preceded in death by the love of her life for 57 years, Donald "Ricky" Richard, her parents Horace and Carrie Watson, her precious sister, Judy McLendon, and her brothers Martin and Thomas Watson that died as small children. Grammy is survived by her children, Randy Richard; Dee and Dan Wallis; and Rob and Kelli Richard; her grandchildren, Randy and Katie Wallis; Dusty and April Richard; Jesse and Kaitlyn Richard; Josh and Megan Richard; Jamie Richard; and Jessica Perdue; and by five great grandchildren; Abi and Madi Richard; Eli Wallis; Liv and Cason Richard, and our joy yet to be born. She is also survived by two sisters; Carol Russell and Mallie Langhammer as well as, many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heart-felt appreciation and thanks to all those who helped and supported them through Grammy's illness and to the outstanding staff at the Hospice of Baton Rouge for their loving care and kindness. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 5pm until 8pm, with a 7pm recitation of the Rosary. Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 9am until funeral mass at 10am, with eulogies beginning at 9:40am. Funeral mass conducted by Rev. M. Jeffery Bayhi. Burial will be in Azalea Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Richard, Rob Richard, Randy Wallis, Dusty Richard, Josh Richard, Jesse Richard, and Jamie Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Wallis, Elijah Wallis, and Cason Richard. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund. Grammy's motto: Love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul, mind, and strength. Mark 12:30.
