Martha Jackson, “Grannie Grand”, 80, a native of Richmond, VA and a resident of Jackson, LA, died on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Grace Nursing Home. She was retired, after working for over 25 years for the State of Louisiana at Villa Feliciana. Visitation will be on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Jackson Second Baptist Church in Jackson, LA from 10am until funeral services at 1pm, conducted by Pastor Benny Johnson. Burial will be in the Second Baptist Cemetery. She is survived by five daughters: Theresa Clayton and her husband David of Gloster, MS; Jeannie Cavin and her husband Lev of Crosby, MS; Carolyn Floyd and her husband Dale of Gloster, MS; Nancy Payne and her husband Bill of Norwood, LA; Linda Jackson of Livonia, LA; one son, Otis Jackson and his wife Samantha of Crosby, MS; three brothers, Stanly Piersa of Franklin, VA; William Piersa of Franklin, VA; Larry Piersa of Seattle, WA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Freddie Gene Jackson; her brother Joseph Piersa; her daughter Merrie Rowe; her grandson Keith Cavin; parents Chester Joseph and Anna Marie Piersa. Pallbearers will be Chris Cavin, Dale Floyd, Jr., Cody Russell, Shane Russell, Josh Jackson, Adam Rowe, Britt Cavin, and Ben Crochet. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Bond, Frank Parker, John Reason, Brad Cavin, Lance Russell, and Donny Stokes. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed flower gardening. She was an advocate for the elderly.
