Obituary for Charles Montgomery Young Sr.

Charlie M. Young Sr. “Charlie Boy”, 75, a resident of Weyanoke, LA, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 11am until funeral services at 1pm, conducted by Rev. Mike Clark. Burial will be in the Young Family Cemetery in Weyanoke, LA. He is survived by one daughter, Ellen Young Brock and her husband Roger Brock; one son, Charlie Young Jr; one brother, Gary Young; two nephews, Dustin Young and Davin Young; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Gentile Young; and parents Charles C. Young and Mary Ellen Young. Pallbearers will be Bobby Malina, Jason Malina, Kevin Dwyer, Johnny Bert Dixon, Teddy Martin, and Joe Norwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Foster, Calvin Foster, Barry Waller, Coon Johnson, Duck Braswell, and Sam Felder. He served in the US Merchant Marines for six years. He was a retired cattle rancher who enjoyed the outdoors. The family wishes to thank Mr. Barry Waller, his neighbor, for all of his help. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to paralyzed veterans’ organizations or to the St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT 59004.
