Obituary for Otto Frederick Yllander

Otto Yllander died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, in Wentzville, Mo. He was 68, a native of Centreville, Miss., and a resident of Zachary. He retired from Gulf States Utilities, Willow Glen Plant mechanic, where he worked for 25 years. Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Tuesday, Jan. 11, was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation at First Presbyterian Church, Zachary, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Randall Richmond. Interment will be at Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cavin Yllander; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Yllander Ball and Keith Ball, of Wentzville, Mo.; grandson, Bryce Ball; granddaughter, Lauren Ball; mother-in-law, Janet K. Cavin; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda Y. and Ben Toler, of Zachary, and Margaret Y. and Ken Jackson, of Centreville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Albert C. Yllander, of Douglasville, Ga., and Richard A. and Linda Yllander, of Baker; two nieces, Vickie Huh and Nina Johnson; 11 nephews, Bruce Yllander, Daniel Yllander, Sean Yllander, Rick Yllander, Jeff Yllander, Tommy Yllander, Michael Toler, David Toler, Jason Jackson, Brian Jackson, and Sammy Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert C. and Elizabeth Smiley Yllander. Pallbearers will be his nephews. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Zachary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the Moog Center for Deaf Education, 12300 S. Forty Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141-8820 or First Presbyterian Church, P.O.
