James Earl “Pop” Vines, 63, a resident of Ethel, LA, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a native of Durrant, MS and a retired employee of J.B. James. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 6pm until 8pm and then on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 12noon until services at 1pm, conducted by Bobby Bennett. Burial will be at the First United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Clinton, LA. He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Falgoust of Eagle River, AK; and Jean Barker and her husband Eric Barker of Green River, WY; and three sons, Kevin Vines of St. Francisville; Tim Vines and his wife Jennifer Vautrot of Ellijay, GA; and Eric Vines of St. Francisville; three sisters: Mary Cole and her husband Wayne Cole of Starkville, MS; Barbara Tedford of Carrollton, MS; and Karen Lynn Arnold of Holly Springs, MS; and one brother, John Talmadge Vines and his wife Vera Vines of Olathe, KS; ten grandchildren: Chad Falgoust, Jay Vines, Amber Barker, Virginia Barker, Elizabeth Barker, Eli Barker, Hannah Vines, Devin Vines, Taylor Vines, and Holden Vines. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Linda Jean Vines. Pallbearers will be James Kevin Vines, Eric Barker, John Timothy Vines, Joseph Eric Vines, Jay Vines, Eli Barker, and Jonathan Tucker. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Keel.
